interzum forum italy is the new biennial event – aimed at the Italian and European markets – for the world of subcontracting and interior design. POLI.design is a partner of the Italian edition, which will be held every two years and will alternate with interzum cologne. The event includes a schedule of talks, trend, and product stages involving Italian and international speakers.
Barbara Del Curto (Full Professor of Politecnico di Milano) will take part in the talk “Color, Material and Finish design: between physical and digital in search of new codes” on June 7th at 1:30 PM. The panel focuses on the color and texture trends of physical and digital products. The topic matches POLI.design’s disciplinary field, particularly with the didactic activities of the Specializing Master in Sensorial Surface Design – Color, Material and Finish design for interiors and furniture. The program trains professionals in the design of the perceptive, sensorial and technical aspects of surfaces.
Anna Barbara emphasizes how materials, surfaces, and finishes now converge with the authentic DNA of Italian design, even though, in the past, they were merely seen as embellishments in the final stages of products and projects. As the President of POLI.design says, “Behind this extraordinary world, there are companies, universities, and innovation centres that carry out advanced research and explore new areas of application. They invent complex materials that build performative technologies to respond to increasingly advanced requirements. This articulated design system is strategic and ensures the success of Italian brands. For this reason, it will be necessary to continue to support education and training in the design culture of surfaces, materials, and also intangible objects.”
