The identikit of emerging and future designers: an overview of professionals who will play a pivotal role in the design field, both in public and private organizations.

From the Rapporto Design Economy to Designer Who?

In April, the ADI Museum hosted the presentation of the Rapporto Design Economy 2024: a research by Fondazione Symbola, Deloitte Private, POLI.design, and ADI (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale). The report is the only survey that captures the changes and the state of design in Italy. It is a compass for those who need to choose new talents and professionals, for everyone who wants to devise and develop up-to-date projects. Indeed, the Rapporto Design Economy highlights the roles that will be most in demand in the near future.

Designer Who? starts right here: it focuses on emerging professional figures and sketches the features of the designers of the future. From artificial intelligence to biotechnology, a new design era is coming. Emerging designers are pioneers today, but they will become necessary for public and private organizations in a few years. Designer Who? outlines the skills and evolutionary path of ten roles: AI Designer, Biodesigner, Digital Content Strategist, Experience Designer, Healthcare Designer, Information Designer, Legal Designer, Material Designer, Strategic-Business Designer, and Systemic Designer.
