The POLI.design Shareholders’ Meeting was held on Thursday 28 April 2022, appointing the new members and the Chairman of the Board of Directors who will remain in charge until the approval of the financial statements at 31 December 2022.
Matteo O. Ingaramo, Professor of Design at the Politecnico di Milano and Coordinator of the Master Degree Course in Design and Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano, will be the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company, whose members include the Politecnico di Milano, ADI, AIPi, AIAP and FederlegnoArredo. In addition to Professor Ingaramo, the Board of Directors will also include Simona Belforti (FederlegnoArredo), Luciano Galimberti (President ADI) and Marco Tortoioli Ricci (President AIAP). They will also be joined by Cabirio Cautela, Professor at Politecnico di Milano, Department of Design, and Co-Director of the Design Thinking for Business Observatory of Politecnico di Milano, who was appointed as the new CEO by the Board of Directors.
POLI.design will be guided by professionals who, in these years, with their work and expertise, have contributed to the growth of the Company. The new Chairman of the Board of Directors, Matteo O. Ingaramo led the company, first as General Director and then as CEO, from 2009 to 2022, bringing POLI.design to play a hinge role between universities, enterprises, institutions and professional worlds. In particular, he achieved important goals in the internationalization process, with a particular focus on China and South America, and in the management of the company in a moment of crisis like the one that has just passed: two years in which the pandemic has completely overturned the education sector and which have seen POLI.design close its balance sheet with a 32% increase in revenues.
On the other side, Prof. Cautela leaves his role as Deputy Director of the Design Department of Politecnico di Milano and will take on the role of CEO of POLI.design in a moment of great change for an institution dealing with education. On the one hand, his work will focus on consolidating the training process of more traditional figures, linked to the concept of the original project, such as product designers, space designers, and service designers. On the other hand, his work will also be aimed at implementing the very evolution of the design domain, accelerated by the digital transition and sustainability, and at further strengthening Corporate Education. Today, in fact, designers play a strategic role in several areas of company management: from human resources to the reconfiguration of creative processes, passing through business models.
