From November 11 to 19, thanks to the consolidated partnership between POLI.design, Politecnico di Milano – Design School and top ranking Indian private university GD Goenka, the Workshop “Design, Art and Crafts of India” will set off. Following last year’s online Workshop, the new educational program will be held at GD Goenka’s campus in Gurgaon (Haryana) and run by three leading experts in the newest trends of Interior Design, namely professors Alessandro Biamonti and Lorenzo Morganti, assisted by tutor Lorenzo Fossi and with the scientific direction of professor Arturo Dell’Acqua.
“Design, art and crafts of India” will give more than 70 young creatives the exciting chance to re-create handicrafts in a new contemporary form, enhancing the vast Indian heritage as well as the beauty and vibrancy of its complexity while finding ways to respond to the challenges posed by globalization and changing economic barriers.
After completing the Workshop’s activities the students will acquire the tools to drive a real renovation in manufacturing districts and bring about fruitful cultural exchange, adapting old techniques to new productions and the present needs of the international context.
