Hainan International Designer Competition (HIDC)

The first Hainan International Designer Competition (HIDC) will be grandly held in 2022 in Hainan, the only tropical island province of China with long coastline.

As the supporting unit, GDIO, whose POLI.design is partner, invites you to take part in the Hainan International Designer Competition (HIDC) and welcomes your participation in the miraculous journey of design. As the theme is “Design Drives Innovative Hainan”, the HIDC is striving for building a design island with innovative designers around the world. The innovative design shall bring vitality to Hainan, including cultural tourism design, architectural & environmental design, industrial design, and digital creative design etc.

Below is the detailed information for entries collection of the Competition:

Entry Collection:

The HIDC is FREE to enter.
The Submission is from Aug. 2022 to Oct. 10th 2022.

Awards Setting:

• Gold Award sets for 3 awards, RMB 50,000/award
• Silver Award sets for 5 awards, RMB 10,000/award
• Bronze Award sets for 20 awards, RMB 5,000/award
• Excellent Award is granted to the designers who enter into the Final Jury

Benefits:

• Chance to win the competition bonus
• Preferential policies to start business in Hainan
• GDIO publicity for designers

All the awardees shall receive incentives like preferential policies on business importing to Hainan Free Trade Port. Together with mainstream media and industrial organizations, GDIO would provide publicity to further enhance the social influence of excellent design in the Final Jury.

Please fill out the Competition Registration Form  before Sept. 30th, 2022 and Competition Entry Form  before Oct. 10th, 2022 and send all related-entry materials to secretariat@gdio.org and szdu@szdu.cn

What materials you should provide:

• 2022 First Hainan International Designer Competition Registration Form and Entry Form
• Design Drafts, Design Statement, Layout Design, Modeling Photos, and other related materials
• Design Document attached with main design drawings in physical or digital
• Video or animation on the introduction of the submissions within 3 minutes (Optional)
• Physical entity or dimensional scaled model of the submissions (Optional)

Kindly note that you could submit the Competition Registration Form in advance if you haven’t finished the preparation of your Entry.
