Meet MARTINA CAIC // Designed to serve: Social robots in value networks
Martina is an Assistant Professor at Aalto University, School of Arts, Design and Architecture in Finland. She received her PhD from Maastricht University in the Netherlands, where she was a Marie Curie Fellow funded by the Service Design for Innovation Network (SDIN).
Her research addresses customer experiences in value networks (e.g., elderly care networks), with a particular focus on robotic and ambient assisted living technolo-gies.
In her talk, Martina will discuss how the introduction of social robots in elderly care raises may questions related to, among other things, privacy, security, inde-pendence, and well-being. She will address questions such as: Can robots be per-ceived as social entities? Can they reduce loneliness among older adults? and How do formal and informal caregivers react to robot carers?
