From November 13th, Lucca Comics & Games brings Maestro Amano’s work to Milan. POLI.design designed the exhibition set and will manage a side-project program that includes workshops, a design challenge, and a talk.
From November 13th, 2024, until March 1st, 2025, Fabbrica del Vapore will showcase “Amano Corpus Animae” – an immersive exhibition curated by Fabio Viola that celebrates the work of Yoshitaka Amano. Known for iconic projects like “Sandman” and “Final Fantasy”, Amano’s art will be presented alongside open events that explore the intersection of art, design, and transmedia. “Amano Corpus Animae” is an initiative by Lucca Comics & Games. POLI.design is in charge of designing the exhibition set. In addition, we manage and promote a set of activities, including workshops, talks, and design challenges that will involve leading experts from various fields. Service design, product design, illustration, storytelling, communication, sustainable fashion, gaming, graphics: different approaches, languages and tools will face current challenges. Emerging artists, students, and creatives will have the opportunity to be involved in these initiatives. The program stems from the belief that design and the visual arts can drive meaningful change.
A talk dedicated to exploring how comics and graphic visualisation can make complex concepts, such as scientific ones, accessible and comprehensible. Through a video contribution by Matteo Farinella—a neuroscientist, co-author of the “Neurocomic” series, and scientific multimedia producer at Columbia University’s Zuckerman Institute—and live interventions from exceptional guests, we will discover the great communicative power of images. An event that combines science, creativity, and design to inspire new forms of visual storytelling.
