The entire proceeds from the sale of 32 reproductions of DUO, a design object created by Campari Soda in collaboration with Marco Oggian, will be donated to POLI.design for the realization of scholarships to support the training of young design talents.
From the unique and exclusive initiative between Campari Soda and Deodato Arte – a prestigious Italian art gallery with an international flair – comes DUO, the #label-free stool “born to be shared” created by the aperitif brand together with Marco Oggian – an artist belonging to the Pocko platform.
Presented at the ADI Museum on the occasion of Milano Design Week 2021, DUO is on display in two symbolic locations of Italian design: the museum itself and Galleria Campari in Sesto San Giovanni. The innovative object is also on display at the two locations of the well-known Art Gallery in Milan – via Santa Marta 6 and via Nerino 2 – and in Pietrasanta (LU) – via Garibaldi 22, as well as on the official online Gallery. From October 25 at 19:32, has begun the sale of 32 reproductions of the stool (to commemorate the year of birth of the brand, 1932), which have been purchased individually in the three locations of Deodato Arte and on their e-commerce.
The entire proceeds of the sales will be donated to POLI.design with the aim of supporting the training and growth of young students in the field of design.
As its name suggests, DUO conceals an exclusive peculiarity: when needed, in fact, it splits into two identical halves, creating two autonomous and perfectly equal seats. Symbol of union and conviviality, the innovative design work represents the reinterpretation of an object born in the bar and now present in many homes. The stool, red Campari Soda, recalls the shape of the iconic bottle made in 1932 by futurist Fortunato Depero, further confirming the connection with the philosophy and essence of Campari Soda: a moment of sharing between authentic people and #withoutlabels.
Deodato Arte is the leading brand in Italy and a worldwide reference point for Pop and Street Art. Founded in 2010 by the art dealer Deodato Salafia, it offers its public and collectors some of the works of the most famous artists of international scope, including Banksy, Mr. Brainwash, Jeff Koons, Romero Britto, Damien Hirst, Takashi Murakami and Andy Warhol. Deodato Arte has several physical locations in Italy – in Milan, Porto Cervo and Pietrasanta – and abroad – in Switzerland and Brussels – as well as an eCommerce site with more than 3000 works of Modern and Contemporary Art.
Originally from Lake Maggiore, Marco Oggian has had his artwork exhibited in galleries and shows in Paris, Barcelona, London, Berlin and Tokyo, as well as published in more than 20 books, ranging from design to illustration, typography and photography. The artist describes his style as simple and impactful, using bright colors. Oggian has already been the protagonist of an exciting project with Campari Soda, where he created four reproductions of a digital work to reinterpret the iconic bottle, thus landing, together with the brand, in the innovative world of NFT.
The collaboration was born with the aim of strengthening the strong link between Campari Soda and the world of design, born back in 1932, the year in which Davide Campari – enlightened entrepreneur and great art lover – created the first single-dose aperitif in history and asked Fortunato Depero to design the unmistakable 9.8 cl inverted goblet-shaped bottle. For more than eighty years Campari Soda has therefore been a symbol of authenticity and genuine closeness, free from masks and social conventions in order to bind itself to other individuals who share the same values, always #WithoutLabels.
