EARLY BIRD 10% for enrollment in Specializing Masters and Executive Courses starting in the next months
A 10-month project, 3 months dedicated to courses for local students, 8 open talk evenings and a 6-day study tour in Italy for design students and industry professionals in Kuwait who desire to experience and delve into Italian design and culture.
The collaboration between POLI.design, founded by the Politecnico di Milano, and the Italian Embassy in Kuwait has given rise to SENSITALIANI, an international project for the promotion of Italian design which, in a ten-months path, illustrate the history and peculiarities of this sector, a multidisciplinary set of skills, creativity, research and entrepreneurship.
From March to December 2021, with the Scientific Direction of Professor Anna Barbara, SENSITALIANI will promote three main activities addressed to design students and industry professionals in Kuwait interested in the Italian culture. The first part of the program will consist in two cycles of lectures and online conferences on aspects of design that connect and interest both countries, then followed by a study trip to Italy.
“Italian senses” will be the guiding theme of the project – sight, but also hearing, smell, touch and taste would introduce the beauty of Italian culture, from art to design, to fashion, theater, cinema, cuisine, nature, sports and much more. Design is actually intended not only as a commercial vehicle for companies in the industry, but above all as a cultural engine to promote Italy and the “Country System” in its broadest sense: cultural, artistic, social, economic and educational.
The official inauguration will be held on March 31, 2021 at 12:00 Kuwaiti connecting to zoom platform https://zoom.us/j/93660192116?pwd=ZkxDVE13K2pWTjd3cGJKZWdpUll3Zz09.
The project will be concluded by a students’ award ceremony and the presentation of the final works, material, interviews, photographs and videos realized all along the project.
POLI.design, together with the School of Design and the Department of Design, forms the Design System of the Politecnico di Milano, among the Top Universities in the world, now ranked in the QS World University Ranking by Subject 2021 at first place in Italy, third in Europe and fifth in the world in the Art & Design category.
The Ambassador of Italy to Kuwait Carlo Baldocci underlined the very strong interest that the initiative has aroused in Kuwait, where Italian design represents a very significant part of the interactions between the two countries and will help further expand the Italy-Kuwait dialogue and opportunities for collaboration.
Ambassador Baldocci also expressed his appreciation for the strong interest that the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Kuwait and the American University of the Middle East “AUM” in Kuwait have shown in the project.
