Discover his path!
1. Can you tell us “who you are”, what do you do today and what role within the company / reality where you work?
I am Marco Achler, founder and owner of the Neomarine shipyard that operates on Lake Como offering 360 degrees services for pleasure boating. I am also co-founder of the Greek charter company Kefalonia Blu.
2. What was the role of training, and in particular of the Specializing Master in Yacht Design at the Politecnico di Milano, to get to where you are today?
In my opinion, MyD has been fundamental in completing my training in the nautical sector as it has succeeded in a short time in introducing me to all aspects of nautical design and production. This has helped me to choose with more awareness which branch and specialization to continue among the various professional figures that the nautical world offers.
3. An important moment or a memory from your experience at the Specializing Master?
Definitely the visit to the shipyards, especially the visit to the restructuring of a Tug boat with Professor Massimo Gregori. Start to touch with your hands what before was only theoretical study.
4. The first word that comes to mind when thinking about the Specializing Master.
More than thinking of a word, I smile every time I think back to that time, for the classmates, for the professors, a unique experience.
5. What advice would you give to a young person who dreams of becoming a yacht designer / undertaking this training course?
Absolutely, and I would also recommend it to anyone who doesn’t necessarily want to become a yacht designer, but to anyone who wants to pursue any kind of career in the nautical world.
