EARLY BIRD 10% for enrollment in Specializing Masters and Executive Courses starting in the next months
A live streaming graduation, the participation to the Car Design Dialogues Asia and an exhibition celebrating the projects created during the XII edition: these are the 3 main events of the TAD Week, a week dedicated to the students of the Specializing Master in Transportation & Automobile Design
The usual Graduation Day of the Master in Transporation & Automobile Design (TAD) of Politecnico di Milano, managed by POLI.design, came back in hybrid mode and inaugurated the TAD Week. An in-person event for students and professors and an invitation-only live streaming for all those interested in the new trends of car design, which took place on Monday 12 July from 10:30 am to 1 pm (CEST).
The protagonists are 13 students and their projects created starting from the basic idea of hybridization of the vehicle through which the vehicle moves. With a look at the climatic and socio-cultural changes of the next 30 years and the consequent future of vehicles for the mobility of people, the Master’s students were invited to move away from the idea of standard vehicles that travel only on normal roads, and to design hybrid vehicles. Starting from this common assumption, the students, divided into three groups, designed vehicles capable of switching from a common standard mode of travel to an alternative one by choosing, for each of the three working groups, a second environment in which the vehicle can move with equal efficiency.
Inspired by the world of drones, the “Bugatti Ciel” project is a vehicle capable of traveling on the road and flying at low altitude to overcome both natural obstacles and traffic jams. Thinking back to the only mass-produced amphibious car of the 1960s, with the “K-Wave” project has been designed an amphibious vehicle capable of accommodating a family with a high level of comfort on both land and water. Finally, the third group has opted for an extreme choice by designing “Chiòs”, a vehicle capable of going underwater up to a depth of 25 meters.
The event was opened by the Scientific Director of the Specializing Master in Transportation & Automobile Design, Professor Fausto Brevi, who then gave the floor to the three groups of students who talked about their projects and dialogue with Michael Robinson, a very well-known US Car Designer. The ceremony concluded in the Aula Castiglioni at Campus Bovisa with the awarding of diplomas.
Those who couldn’t be present had the possibility to follow the July 12 event on Youtube or following it on July 15, from 12:15 am to 1:15 pm (CEST), streaming on Car Design News as part of the Car Design Dialogues Asia event, a three-day program that from July 13 to 15 hosted discussions, interviews and reflections on design with guests from China, India, South Korea and Japan. During the Car Design Dialogues Asia event, the students of the Master were remotely connected to answer questions and curiosities about their projects.
