Elena Caratti

Elena Caratti, PhD, is Associate Professor at the Department of Design, Politecnico di Milano. She teaches at the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses in Communication Design and at the PhD School in Design.

For years she has been conducting research and experimentation in the field of visual cultures and editorial design reinterpreted through the translation paradigm.

Author of “Gender-sensitive Remedies” (2015), she was co-editor, with Giovanni Baule, of the book Design is translation (Franco Angeli, 2016) and co-editor, with Laura Galluzzo, of the book Designing ethically in a complex world. Multiple challenges within design for public and social Systems (Franco Angeli, 2024).
